The Brock Gleeson Band

With the release of his first full-length CD, “10 Miles to Biloxi,” and recent EP, “The Water,” Brock Gleeson hopes to bring his blend of lively folk-rock and engaging storytelling to a wider audience. His band, which has existed in various lineups for nearly 4 years, consists primarily of Brock on lead vocals, guitar and banjo, and childhood friend Ben Reynolds on backing vocals, guitar and mandolin.

“10 Miles to Biloxi” took 21 days to record in a tiny Colorado recording studio and was 3 years in the making. “The Water” was the result of a burst of songwriting and a nonstop weekend of work in the same cozy home studio. “They’re both labors of love,” Brock says. “I’d wanted to work with a band to record the songs on ‘Biloxi’ for a long time. I’d written a couple of the songs on ‘The Water’ and when the last few were ready we went straight to the studio. It was only a few months between, but I had to share them!”

Born in Grand Junction, Colorado, into a rowdy Irish clan where everyone was a storyteller, Brock grew up sharing tales — only some of which were true — and performing them before rapt audiences from the family dinner table to the school stage. He hit the road shortly after high school, capturing the hearts and souls of audiences from Colorado to Nashville to Austin to Phoenix, and counts among his musical highlights opening for guitar and roots music wizard Jimmy Vaughan in 2004.

The Brock Gleeson Band creates songs you’ll tap your toes to and find yourself humming a few hours later. They’ll make you sway your hips across a dance floor or sing aloud on a long country drive.

The guys are in a new studio in May, recording a batch of songs inspired by a late winter trip through the South. Summer will be the perfect time to share them onstage.
