Charlotte X.C. Sullivan has lived in Alabama, California, Florida, the Gulf of Mexico, Massachusetts, Maine, Utah, and Vermont. By using artwork to interpret her living conditions, she better understands her physical and imagined place in the world. Most recently, her living condition was Green River, Utah for one month as Epicenter’s first Frontier Fellow. While here, Sullivan built the first Tumblamp prototype, painted the Green River Antipode, photographed the landscape in unique ways, made ice, held an art show at 295 S Long, and helped officially establish the Epicenter’s Frontier Fellowship (including the website).
Sullivan’s Green River Antipode is scheduled to be installed in September as part of Project Green River. The installation will be located on West Main Street in Green River. This is Sullivan’s second year of participation in Project Green River. In 2010, her work Yourself Not Yourself was featured in the Baxter Gallery. Green River Antipode was made possible by funding in the amount of $2,000 from the Utah Arts Council.
