Trevor Adams lives in Grand Junction, CO. He works in the children’s section of the public library. Showing kids where to find Diary Of A Wimpy Kid makes him happy. He play drums and sings in the band Dreamboat. Visiting Green River approximately 17 times a year, Adams listens to audiobooks on the drive which makes him smile inside and out. Trevor studied Music Theater at Mesa State in Grand Junction (which means he pranced around in tights, sang in a choir, over-acted in plays, and choreographed “deep” dance pieces). He has been playing in various bands most of his life. His first “band” was the Grand Junction Barbershop Chorus he sang in with his dad when he was 8.

Adams is the Project Green River 2011′s Master of Ceremonies.

My work stems from a fear of the direction our species is headed, in almost all considerations. More specifically, the impact that our existence, no our thriving, has on the land in which we occupy. These fears draw me to not only our interactions with the natural world, but also the results of these interactions. This planet has its own power, one that we as a population, no longer respect as our elders did. I produce photographs of all scales, drawings, and collect artifacts to process my own experience with these interactions.

Select photographs from Mattison’s Frontier Fellowship at Epicenter in Green River will be featured at the Epicenter Gallery. Two of his highly detail pen and ink illustrations (Shack and Swamp Cooler) will be for sale in the form of t-shirts and posters during Project Green River. Additionally, during his Fellowship Miles painted the Epicenter signage and drew a detailed topographic map just in time for Project Green River! Both the signage and map are forever part of Epicenter.

The things she believed to be clear blurred and the things she always saw as blurry came into focus. The job ended in Greensboro, and she began traveling across America with two friends and a camper.

Stars burn out, legends live forever.

Blaze Foley: Duct Tape Messiah is a documentary about the doomed poet whose life was a country song. Born in a tree house, killed in a friend’s living room and 86’d from his own funeral, Blaze Foley is now a bona fide Texas legend. His heartfelt, funny and political songs are covered by Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, John Prine, Lyle Lovett, Joe Nichols and in concert by the Kings of Leon. This new documentary from Austin, 12 years in the making and featuring archival footage, interviews, animation and an innovative documentary structure, offers the definitive, intimate portrait of a complex artist who struggled for recognition and who died defending an elderly friend.

Kevin Triplett is a Texas filmmaker who grew up in a family of photographers. His childhood love of film ended abruptly when the local store stopped selling Super8 film. He went on to study electrical engineering, became a software developer, and worked all over the southern United States before landing in Austin where he rekindled his love for motion picture storytelling. This is his second feature-length documentary (his first is a private documentary commissioned by the Spacek family about their ancestral home in Granger, Texas). Kevin has produced and directed numerous short films, music videos, commercials and industrial projects.

The Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA) is pleased to be hosting two family art activities as part of Project Green River this year! Use your experience of this exciting day filled with music/art/film (and melons!) to inspire your designs. Stop by their print booth and learn a simple form of relief printing to create your own postcards; and join them to make your mark on a collaborative mural using oil pastels.

The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is Utah’s premier visual art museum, and serves as a bridge from campus to the broader community. The UMFA’s permanent collection features some 18,000 works from antiquity to contemporary art. Special exhibitions make each visit a new experience, and a variety of public programs are scheduled year-round to encourage dialogue and discovery.
